Gemma (Wellknowe Spring Breeze ShCM) 29.3.00-25.2.04

Gemma was responsible for me being well and truly bitten by the 'show bug'. Blessed with a beautiful character and temperament, she lived her life as a "mummy's girl" and was always choosy who she would converse with!!
She was such a unique dog from the lovely Wellknowe line. I know others will agree, you definitely need to own a Wellknowe to understand a Wellknowe!!! A dog that only ever comes along once in a lifetime, Gemma was incredibly special, my close friends and I have some special and hilarious memories of her, she was most definitely different and did she know it??!!
I remember one year when Linda Peirson of Kiltondale Bearded Collies and myself attended National Working Breeds at Malvern, we enjoyed a few days in a beautiful cottage enjoying some red hot weather and lots of scrumptious food! On a walk Gemma decided to check out some moorhens on a pond in the middle of a field only to come back dripping in black silt which resulted in me spending the rest of the day bathing her over and over again to clean her up for the next day!! She was a real mud muppet!!
In the show ring she won a RCC and ultimately her stud book number under John Walsh in May 2003. She followed that up later in the year with a CC and BOB in August 2003 under Gill Yeates (Odderwood). I was so proud that she shared her life with me both at home and in the show ring.
My world fell apart when she lost her life during a ceasarian section on 25th February 2004 and left us to care for her 7 beautiful kids - Barney, Murdo, Rosie, Daisy, Cassie and Lottie - not forgetting our very own Jessica (Kyleca Spring Breeze JW) who lives life to the full, in every sense of the word! I am sure Gemma would have been so proud of her 11 grandchildren!
You'll never know how much you were adored Gemma, you were truly a dog in a million, run free with your special friends at the Rainbow Bridge.
